GraphicWorks Inc. is pleased to offer hi-resolution scanning specifically tailored for large format printing. We can scan a wide range of transparency sizes, both positive and negative, with amazing results. This is ideal when purchasing photos for use from companies like Alaska Stock Images, since they supply transparencies for large format scanning. We also have a large format flatbed scanner for media 11"x 17" or smaller. This is ideal for one-of-a-kind graphics, like family photos, historic photos, flags and family heirlooms.
Attention to detail
Large format printing requires photos and images to have a great amount of detail if they are to look good. Because miniscule defects in the media, such as dust or scratches, can become giant eye-sores once the image is blown up, we take the extra steps required to minimize this issue. We scan all photos at the highest quality possible, using advanced technology to detect and correct blemishes and flaws. Images are then imported into Photoshop for color correction and editing. There we can enhance the photo and remove or minimize any remaining flaws.
A new lease on life
Certain projects require the use of photos that, for one reason or another, are in poor condition. One-of-a-kind photos that are either damaged or fading, such as family and historic photos, can be given a new lease on life with our advanced photo editing capabilities. Drawing on over 40 years of experience and today's advanced technology, we have the ability to restore some of the roughest-looking photos to a healthy state.
We can also optimize your photos to better suit the unique characteristics of each project. Because printers, materials and inks all have their own unique attributes, not to mention the many combinations of the three, it is beneficial to let us fine-tune your photos to achieve the best results. This will maximize consistency and quality, specifically when a design is reproduced in various formats. Click here to read more information on our commitment to quality and consistency.
